Keeping your hair in tip top shape is expensive business - I'm shamefully always one for only getting my roots done when I absolutely have to and justifying this because in my head it looks like the goddess below but in reality more like a lazy chav.
Joanna Halpin - can I be you?

For a while I shopped around for somewhere central that does highlights for under £100. This apparently does not exist (cry), so using, which filters out all of the crap Groupon deals leaving only good ones, I came across A&P Studio in Knightsbridge.

The deal was £59 for a full head of highlights, cut and blow dry which did initially seem too good to be true, but a sterling set of Wahanda reviews later I booked in to get my barnet sorted.

Due to a number of hair disasters in my teenage years (involving a ginger pixie crop which, funnily enough, I didn't suit), I'm quite nervous about trying new hairdressers, but A&P is genuinely a hidden gem. Tucked away above an Italian restaurant a stone's throw from Knightsbridge station is the small but perfectly formed studio with barely enough room to fit five clients at a time, but this cosy atmosphere complete with an Italian espresso on arrival gives the places a wonderful family feel.

Three hours later my hair is bright, snipped and tousled with genuinely the best blow dry I've ever had - my locks have never felt so voluminous! I'm almost reticent to share the place with you as it's bound to become oversubscribed soon with this value for money. My new go-to London hairdresser!
