Fact: I spend approximately 70% of my monthly wages on pop ups (probably), so naturally I had to see what Brixton's newest seasonal hang out South Pole Saloon has to offer.

Tucked away in a previously pretty derelict car park, South Pole offers all the things you'd expect from a pop up - cool cocktails and delicious food from a variety of locally sourced food vendors. But unlike your average Christmas market, here Santa's naughtiest elves have escaped the 'Pole and created their own fun with some pretty cheeky 'immersive' performances, complete with scantily-clad Candy Cane-rs shaking their tail feathers.

As usual, bring a decent amount of cash with you if you want to get the full experience, and you'll almost certainly question where Google Maps is taking you while you're trying to get there, but if the idea of festive markets with German sausages or cheesy Christmas songs in earshot has you running for the hills, then South Pole Saloon is for you. Not a dodgy looking ferris wheel in sight!

Nearest tube: Brixton
Entry: Free, although if you want to guarantee getting in you can book tickets online for £3
Food: Choice of four vendors, serving mostly burger based grub and stone-baked pizzas
Drink: Jack Daniels bar, also indoor bar serving various winter cocktails - I'd recommend the Hendrick's Floradora and the Monkey Shoulder Apple Mac
